Heartbeat receives a one-time installation signal letting our server know that our software has been installed. The name “heartbeat” does not mean that your computer is continuously streaming data to us.
An installation notification is still a network request. We want to be open about that connection and explain its purpose here.
We do not use Heartbeat to track your usage habits or collect your files, project contents, or activity on your computer.
This explanation applies to the Heartbeat installation notification. Updates, downloads, and other online features you use may make separate connections for their own purposes.
We have disabled Nginx access and error logs for this domain. We do not store your IP address in these web server logs.
An internet connection still uses your IP address at the network level. By “no logging,” we mean that we do not turn this request into a visitor record associated with your IP address.
